Scarborough trying to keep control of Golden Mile development plans:Toronto city council being asked to waive procedural rule

Developers with proposals to redevelop what is now the Eglinton Square mall and some nearby properties are becoming impatient with the pace of the Golden Mile Secondary Plan which seeks to guide development in the area.

Scarborough councillors are trying to get around a procedural rule to keep control over plans for the Golden Mile, an area on Eglinton Avenue about to be transformed by development.
