Maxwell Blackwell works at the counter of his recently opened Black Diamond Gallery; Business Centre, on Eglinton Avenue just west of Dufferin Street. His is among several new businesses that have opened in the area in spite of Eglinton-Crosstown LRT construction.

Amid the chaos that Crosstown LRT construction is causing along Eglinton Avenue West, something surprising is happening — several new businesses have opened in Fairbank Village.
