Toronto Council picks Jonathan Tsao to fill vacant Ward 33

Jonathan Tsao was appointed to represent Ward 33 for the remainder of the term, replacing former Councillor Shelley Carroll after she quit to run provincially.

Under provincial legislation, council must appoint a caretaker councillor when a seat is vacated more than 90 days before an election – although it is too close for a byelection to be allowed.
