Toronto school renames library after expelled First Nations student:Burnhamthorpe CI tribute to Dr. Robert Phillips 'brings truth and reconciliation to life'

Former Burnhamthorpe Collegiate student, First Nations Elder and community leader, Dr. Robert Phillips, attends a ceremony held Friday, June 1 at  the school marking the renaming of its library in his honour.

As Dr. Robert Phillips set alight a bundle of sage at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate last week, he called to mind some of the “difficult feelings” his sacred smudging ceremony was aimed at exorcising.
